M.F.A. Thesis Exhibitions in February at UNO St. Claude Gallery:
Exposed, a Master of Fine Arts thesis exhibition by Shelly Barq; and Not Just a Symbol, But a Status Symbol, a Master of Fine Arts thesis exhibition by Summer Winston; will open at the UNO St. Claude Gallery on February 11, 2012, from 6-9 p.m. The gallery is split to show these two, one-person exhibits. Large scale abstract paintings by Barq address the differences in social behavior between men and women. Winston’s photographic constructions consider the oddity of name-branding. The shows run through March 3, which is also the date of the closing receptions for the exhibits.
Gallery hours are 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., Thursday – Sunday; it is located at 2429 St. Claude Ave.
