Chaz Fest

As it became harder for local New Orleans talent to get on the roster for Jazz Festival, local musicians including Alex McMurray decided to hold a local music festival to feature the incredible talent of New Orleans musicians.
A group of Ninth Ward musicians present a one-day festival at The Truck Farm Studios (3020 St. Claude Ave.) called “Chazfest.” The event is named after the irrepressible washboard virtuoso “Washboard” Chaz Leary.
