Cookbooks and Cocktails
Fridays (04:30 PM - 06:30 PM). Until March 9
A weekly, culinary-focused reading group meets every Friday to discuss classic New Orleans cookbooks at the Kitchen Witch.
The Kitchen Witch is run by Philipe LaMancusa and Debbie Lindsey
Philipe LaMancusa has worked for over half a century in every aspect of the hospitality business. From feeding thousands in the U.S. Navy to intimate dinners for two. From a mop in his step father’s bar and grill in lower Manhatan to Executive Chef of a hotel in downtown San Francisco with jobs cooking on Indian reservations, Japanese restaurants, Jewish country clubs, American and Mediterranean kitchens (also worked as a pastry chef). Philipe has also been employed consulting and designing restaurant kitchens, as well as being a culinary instructor. The core inventory of 5,000 cookery books was gleaned from his personal private library and he may be reached at the shop. Also, under the name Phil LaMancusa he writes a monthly collum for Where Y’at magazine under the title PoBoy Views. His back articles can be read at phillamancusa.blogspot.com
